Infram involved in consequences of hurricane Katrina in US

In 2000 Infram has been consulted for a dike design around the Chevron refinery at the coast of the US , in Pascagoula , Mississippi . Pascagoula is situated just east of Biloxi , a town which has been heavily damaged by the hurricane. Also in Pascagoula blocks of houses have been swept away and the whole city was flooded.

The dike protection around the refinery, however, survived! Some damage occurred, but the refinery did not experience large damage by flooding and did not have a long period of down time due to flooding.

Infram has been asked to advise on immediate repair measures and a study on even possible higher safety levels.
