Protection against flooding is a focal issue. Apart from
primary water defences, it is now clear that even non-primary water defences
have an important role to play in this regard. As a result, the awareness has
grown that absolute protection does not exist: the role of the water defence
administrator is thereby shifting from technical manager to that of a "risk
manager". In addition to a thorough knowledge of his own water defences, the
water defence administrator should consciously implement his role in the context
of the water system and the spatial environment.
The water defence
administrator is faced with the challenge of continuous professionalisation
through further development and application of the right knowledge, organisation
and tools. This places him in a position to perform his tasks properly and
transparently, and to build bridges towards society and various
co-administrators.
Infram makes its contribution by primarily
leading the way into developments and thinking with managers, policy-makers,
administrators and specialists. Infram builds bridges based on around 10 years
experience and cutting-edge knowledge in the field of water defences and spatial
environment, policy and management processes, risk management, inspection and
maintenance methods and plan-based management.
The following is a
list of some of the projects that we have executed.
